An independent guide

The app is an independent visitor guide. It isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Smithsonian Institution or the National Air and Space Museum. “Smithsonian,” “National Air and Space Museum,” and “Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center” are names of the Smithsonian Institution and are used only to identify the museums the guide covers.

Museum information

Object information and images come from Smithsonian Open Access. Images appear only when their records are marked CC0 or public domain.

Exhibits, object locations, hours, security procedures, and visitor policies change, and the guide may not reflect every change. Check the museum’s official website before you visit, and always follow museum staff instructions and posted rules.

One-time purchase

After the introduction, the guide is unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase: $1.99 in the United States, with the App Store showing the local price in other regions. The purchase unlocks the guide’s features for both museums. It isn’t a subscription and never renews or charges again.

The purchase is available on devices signed in to the same Apple Account and to family members through Family Sharing. Apple processes the payment; for billing questions or refunds, use Apple’s Report a Problem. On a new device, choose Restore purchase on the unlock screen or in Settings.

Availability and updates

Some features, including search beyond downloaded museums, the archive, and images not yet downloaded, need an internet connection. Content may be added, corrected, or removed as museum records change, and the app may be updated to improve accuracy, reliability, and accessibility.

Acceptable use

Don’t attempt to bypass the purchase, copy or redistribute the app, interfere with its content service, or use the app in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

Apple’s license agreement

These terms supplement Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If they conflict, Apple’s agreement controls.

Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We work to keep it accurate and reliable, but we can’t guarantee that every detail is current or that the app will always be available.

To the extent permitted by law, the developer isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights that can’t be limited under applicable law, including consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will appear here and in the app with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means the updated terms apply.
